Global Haulage Company Ltd. operates throughout the length and breadth of Ghana and to other destinations in the West African Sub - Region. It evacuates 17% of the total national output of about 650,000 tonnes of cocoa from producing areas in the hinterland to in- land Take - Over Points and the two sea ports of Tema and Takoradi. It also transports commodities like lime from Takoradi to mining companies in West Africa and also steel products, fertilizer, chemicals, consumables etc. from the two sea ports to destinations within the country and the Sub - region.
The company has its beginnings in A. A. Iddrisu Transport, starting with the owner, Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu with a few vehicles to what today in one the most successful transport entities in Ghana. Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu is a man who demands HONESTY, HARD WORK and DEDICATION which he believes must permeate the entire business organization.
Global Haulage Company Ltd. was incorporated in Ghana on 17th February , 1978. It was originally named as Great Grunshie Transport Limited. The company's main business is in transport and haulage. From its humble beginnings, the Great Grunshie Transport grew its operating capacity from one truck to a fleet size of 80 vehicles (mainly articulator trucks) in its early years.
In September, 1992, the Great Grunshie Transport Limited's company name was changed to Global Haulage Company Limited. The company present fleet size is an estimated total of 600 vehicles of all types.
